Cycle & Carriage was awarded the franchises for Proton in Singapore and Mazda in Malaysia.

The Group acquired the Hyundai franchise in Australia.

A joint-venture company, Astra Investments was set up to distribute Hyundai vehicles through a subsidiary.

Sri Temasek Limited was formed to retail Mazda vehicles in New Zealand.
1996
Cycle & Carriage motor operations achieved the ISO 9002 certification.
1997
The Group was awarded the Audi franchise for Australia.

A new headquarters at Homebush Bay in Sydney was opened to base the motor operations in Australia.
