Cycle & Carriage was awarded the franchises for Proton in Singapore and Mazda in Malaysia.
The Group became a major shareholder of Cold Storage (Malaysia) Berhad, which manufactures and distributes food and related products and operates supermarkets and pharmacies in Malaysia.
1990
The Group acquired the Hyundai franchise in Australia.
A joint-venture company, Astra Investments was set up to distribute Hyundai vehicles through a subsidiary.
Sri Temasek Limited was formed to retail Mazda vehicles in New Zealand.
Cycle & Carriage launched its first property development, Hillview Villas, in Singapore.
1992
CCL Group Properties was formed to hold the Group's property interests in Singapore and Malaysia.
The Group successfully took over Malayan Credit Limited, now called MCL Land.
